Women weren’t meant to be the primary caretakers of their kids. And yet, most mums nowadays end up that way. To make matters worse, we have the constant societal pressure to reach obnoxious levels of perfectionism...
(Like juggling your career, your family, the non-stop schedules, the homework, the cooking, the cleaning, the midnight feedings...with little to no help! And don’t you even think about sitting your kids down in front of the TV while you take a moment to yourself.)
All of these impossible standards are making mums crazy! They are blaming themselves and feeling like sh*t parents, when the reality is, they weren’t meant to handle all of this alone. This isn’t the way motherhood is supposed to be.
You’ve likely heard the common phrase, “It takes a village…” but where the hell IS the village?
In this episode, I interviewed the lovely Jen Fulwiler—best-selling author, stand up comic, and mum of 6 kids! We dished all about the struggles of modern parenting and how utterly insane expectations are these days. She gave some great tips on how to survive parenting, including how to hire help when you don’t have any money so that you can relieve some of the pressure of being a mum without your village.

Most people don’t understand what it really takes to build the body of a physique athlete. And when you decide to train for the competition stage, what is required of you - both mentally and physically - is even more astronomical than you could ever imagine.
When I think back to my competing days, many of those memories are very dark. I will never forget those cardio sessions, especially towards the end, where I was starving, exhausted, and going utterly insane.
I had to find a way to get through each cardio session without wanting to quit entirely. I would watch one of my favorite bikini idols, Angelica Teixiera, and her videos would literally give me life and motivate me to keep pushing. I wouldn’t feel so alone - like someone else understood the darkness I was experiencing.
Little did she know how many times she has saved me from that internal chaos.
...until I brought her on my podcast and told her in person!
I am so excited to share this episode with you. Angelica is a 2x Ms. Olympia titleholder and 4x Arnold Champion (among many other titles). She knows firsthand what it means to withstand the immense pressure brought on by the competitive bodybuilding world. In fact, it took her 20 shows before she earned her pro card — talk about persevering and never quitting. She is the epitome of grit and determination!

Did you know 8 out of 10 plant-based people are female, and 5 out of 6 people who go meat-free end up going back? What about the fact that the estrogen found in animals is identical to human estrogen, whereas plant estrogen is entirely different from the human form? Or that over the past 20 yrs in over 50 clinical trials on the use of soy in the alleviation of hot flashes, a meta-analysis shows a significant, measurable reduction in menopausal symptoms?
This is only the tip of the iceberg of what science shows us about a plant-based diet, and it’s the exact opposite of what most people are hearing.
