It’s always been my dream to show people that vegan food doesn’t have to be dull, boring, hard to cook, a bit crap. So when I discovered Sam Turnbull of “It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken” fame, I just HAD to team up with her. Sam works miracles in the kitchen, devising recipes with a minimum number of ingredients that you can find in any local supermarket. When I first used one of her recipes, it was so amazing I thought to myself: what kind of witchcraft is this? Couple of years later and together we’ve devised “The Ultimate Vegan Kitchen”: an online cooking course that takes you inside Sam’s kitchen so you too will learn how to conjure up magic. In our chat, Sam reveals her upbringing in a family of hunters and staunch meat eaters, and her journey in learning to make vegan food truly delicious.

I have been following both of you since early 2020. I was so excited to hear that you two teamed up. I have been fitting Sam’s recipes into the macro/meal planning I learned in your Master Class this summer. After three years of trying to go vegan, you two made it possible. February 2021 will be one year vegan. I kept falling off the vegan wagon because food became boring. Thanks for making vegan food heathy, delicious and easy. The next three months in the UVK will be awesome!

Loved this podcast! I feel very connected to both Sam and Kim because like them I grew up on a farm and I’m now vegan. Looking forward to the Ultimate Vegan Kitchen!

Well I wasn’t going to listen to this episode but I am so glad I did. My Dad is a shearer and I grew up eating meat, I would watch the lambs being put on the truck and know they were going to the slaughter. We have 4 kids and I use to tell my kids when they would come home and tell me “Mary” is now a vegan or vegetarian, I would respond with “that is not happening in our house we will support the farmers and you need to eat meat”. Now after starting the holiday shred I feel great. It is “huge” in our house not to eat meat. Last year I was training for a body building competition and my program had loads of meat, 5 meals a day had meat in it. But something recently changed with me. I was suddenly put off even the sight of meat. Roast lamb or slow cooked lamb was my favourite meal but now I just couldn’t stomach it. I have only been eating vegan for less than a week but I already am no longer feeling bloated, I am sleeping better so I wake up better and I am really satisfied with the foods I am eating, actually I’m enjoying my food again. I’m a big believer that things come into our world when they are suppose to and this podcast hit the spot for me. I have jumped on Insta and now follow the both of you and I will be buying your book and I will look into the program. Thank you for making this lifestyle choice (vegan) feel more achievable.
